Scissors & Measuring Tools

Explore scissors and measuring tools for knitting, crochet and sewing from KnitPro, Addi, Pony and Circulo. Find precision craft scissors, thread snips, retractable tape measures and needle gauges to help cut yarn cleanly, check sizes and finish handmade projects with confidence.

Choose the right scissors

Small embroidery and folding scissors are convenient for trimming yarn tails and threads. Thread snips make quick, precise cuts, while larger dressmaking scissors suit fabric and other sewing materials. Keep cutting edges protected and choose a tool suited to the fibre or material you are cutting.

Measuring tapes and needle gauges

A flexible tape measure helps check garment dimensions, body measurements and the length of knitted or crocheted pieces. A knitting needle gauge identifies needle diameter, particularly when the printed size has worn off. Some gauges also include a yarn cutter or additional measuring functions. Check whether a gauge is designed for knitting needles, crochet hooks or both.

Expert tips for accurate measurements

Measure your gauge swatch after treating it as recommended by your pattern and yarn label. Lay the fabric flat without stretching it and count stitches and rows across the specified area. Compare the result with your pattern before starting fitted sweaters, cardigans or other size-sensitive projects.
